Alasdair Nicolson to be new artistic director of SMF

Composer, performer and animateur Alasdair Nicolson has been appointed (from among an international field of 65 candidates) as the new artistic director of the Festival, when Glenys Hughes stands down after the 2010 festival. As The Orcadian reports, he is already the director of the St Magnus Composers’ Course which runs alongside the Festival.
